Back from the ashes, this double-decocted dark Czech lager was used to introduce beer to our foeder for the very first time. It went through its regular primary fermentation, but instead of going right to our horizontal lagering tank, we transferred it to our brand new oak foeder for 6 weeks. The result didn’t really impart oak to its flavor profile, but it did soften up the roastiness of the dark malts used to create this beautiful Tmavé Pivo.
