We're clear to open back up at 5pm today. We'll have full bar service and a limited menu (due to kitchen equipment issues). So come on over and enjoy some carbs with us...we'll have popcorn, pretzels, and pizza ready for you guys. Which all happen to go really well with beer.

If it were up to us, we'd use the force to make COVID go away forever. We'd slash it with our lightsabers and crush it with our minds. But sadly, that's not how it works. We are still here, dealing with this pandemic, trying our best to get through, to grab hold of that light at the end of the tunnel that seems to be dangling right in front of our eyes. It's not easy. It downright sucks. We hope to never have to shut down again. But this is our reality right now. We are waiting on staff testing results, and we hope to open back up on Thursday. We will keep you posted on social media and on our website. We really, really, hope to see you soon.

We are so sorry to inform you that we must temporarily close Alternate Ending. One of our employees tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday. This staff member was not working at the time we found out and has had no contact with customers this week. We will not re-open until our staff has been cleared. We stand by our core value of providing a safe and healthy space for all who come to AE. We will update you via social media as soon as we re-open.

Our staff has been cleared and we'll be opening tonight at 5pm. We’ve also had our brewpub professionally sanitized during this break.

We conducted another round of staff testing yesterday as an extra precaution after last week's testing, and we hope to have (good!) results in time to open up for Thursday dinner service. At the very least, we believe we will be open by Friday at 3pm. We will continue to keep you posted.

The beer team has been cleared to resume can pickups. Please note our revised weekend pickup hours:

Saturday & Sunday: 10am to 2pm

Pickups will be in front by the garage door. Please maintain 6 ft social distance while waiting on line. 

The taproom will remain closed for the weekend. Thank you again for your patience, support, and understanding.

We are so sorry to inform you that we must temporarily close Alternate Ending tonight and tomorrow. One of our employees tested negative on Monday at our bi-weekly staff testing, but unfortunately tested positive for COVID-19 today. This staff member had no contact with customers this week.

The safety of our staff and our guests will always remain our top priority. During this closure we will continue to sanitize Alternate Ending and will have our staff tested again. We will not re-open until our staff has been cleared. We stand by our core value of providing a safe and healthy space for all who come to AE.

Beer can pickups will be suspended tomorrow, and we will send an update when they're available again. Thank you for your patience and understanding, and we will continue to keep you informed.

Due to the holiday, we will NOT be taking any walk-ins this week. We'll be CLOSED on Thanksgiving Day. Please make your reservation (maximum of 6 people) on Resy for Wednesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday. This includes our lounge areas and outdoor seating. Please note if you reserve an outside table your reservation may be subject to cancellation due to inclement weather.

We realize many people will be home for the holiday weekend. To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, we ask that you PLEASE abide by the incoming travel advisory issued by the state of NJ. If you are entering NJ from one of the 46 states on the restricted travel list, you are advised to quarantine for 14-days after leaving that state and we kindly ask that you do not come to our brewpub. Our number one goal is to protect our employees and our community.

We're excited to announce that we will be opening back up for full service tomorrow 11/11 at 3pm. Special thanks to Immediate Care of Red Bank for setting up on-site COVID testing for our staff today. We're happy to report that all results are negative!

If you're looking for on-site group testing, give William Schuler of Immediate Care a call at 908-216-0784. He will provide tests at no cost even without insurance, as long as you can provide a valid driver’s license or social security number. William and his team were amazing and made this process as easy as possible for our staff. Thank you again!

We are so sorry to inform you that we must temporarily close Alternate Ending this weekend. One of our employees was notified through contact tracing that he/she may have been exposed to COVID-19. This staff member was not in direct contact with customers, and is awaiting a COVID-19 test result.

We decided to close out of an abundance of caution, because the safety of our staff and our guests will always remain our top priority. During this closure we will continue to sanitize Alternate Ending. If necessary, we will work with the health department officials to determine a date to safely reopen.

Scott's plans for a production brewery quickly evolved into a different model. In addition to craft beer, Scott wanted to offer a full bar, delicious menu, throwback movies, and an overall experience to his guests.

All of our signature craft beer is brewed on location with a state-of-the-art brewhouse, and our specialty beers include Juicy IPA, traditional lagers, oatmeal stouts, and delicate mixed cultures.

Scott partnered with Talula’s of Asbury Park to provide a casual yet vibrant menu centered around sourdough square pizza pies and thin-crust round bar pies, which are perfect for pairing with beer. We also offer a variety of non-pizza dishes including free-range chicken wings, seasonal salads, gourmet burgers and sandwiches, delicious entrées, and housemade desserts.

Our handcrafted cocktail menu incorporates fresh juices, house-made hop-infused syrups, shrubs and herbal tonics, and will feature a variety of cocktails, some barrel-aged and on tap.

Locals will always remember the movie theater on Rt. 34. Scott grew up going to this theater, and it was important to him to preserve much of that nostalgia, while recreating the space into a family-friendly neighborhood destination.
